About ISTT

International Scholastic Talent Test (ISTT) successfully launched by IAME in 2006 and subsequent years were highly appreciated and encouraged by the learned community all over. ISTT differs from the so called scholarship examinations conducted many agencies in its content and objectives. The questions are not based on any prescribed guidebook. The syllabi of the examination comprise of scholastic topics, general knowledge, intelligence and mental ability tests including language skills. It is thoroughly graded according to the standard of each class based on National Curriculum Framework.

                             Objectives of ISTT

The broad objectives of conducting International Scholastic Talent Test are:

 


 

     To discover the inner talents of students in various age groups.

 


 

     To make students think differently to bring out novel ideas in them.

    

     To familiarize and train the students the modern method of competitive examinations.

 


 

     To enhance the personality of students.

 


 

     To include in the students the habit of extra reading.

 

To provide opportunities to young and talented students to solve challenging problems   in life.

 


 

To promote excellence in all subjects. 

 

                                  Eligibility

All students studying in KG to 10th STD can participate in the competition. There will be separate question papers for each class.

 

Medium of Examination: English

 

Pattern of Question Paper

KG section:1 hour question paper consisting of communication ability, listening capacity, cross matching of figures, fill in the blanks, Identifying objects, finding the differences,colouring of pictures etc

 

1st -4th STD: 2 hour question paper consisting of objective type, intelligence, mental ability, cross matching, selection of words from letter grid, pencil drawing, colouring etc.

 

5th -7th STD: 2 Hour question paper consisting of objective type, mental ability, cross matching, comprehension, activity oriented questions etc:

 

 

8th-10th STD: 2 hour question paper consisting of objective type, intelligence.mental ability type, cross matching, comprehension and activity oriented questions.

Since we are supplying separate answer papers, the students are able to retain the question papers with them.

 

Fee to be paid:

Every sponsored candidate shall remit a sum of Rs.55/-as entry fee for the examination.Rs.10/-from the collected amount of each candidate can be retained by the school to meet the expenses in connection with postage, invigilation and evaluation charges of the school level examination at their end. The balance amount should be send by cash or DD payable at S.B.T Mavoor Road Branch, Calicut, in favour of Director,IAME.

 

How to apply: The head of the institution shall appoint a coordinator for conducting the exam in that centre. He should intimate the number of students participating in each category and send the amount collected from each student, to the office, after retaining the share of the school. The question papers along with answer sheets will be supplied by IAME to the school in due course.

 

Results certificates and prizes.

Each participating school should have a minimum of 10 students in each category. Participation certificates will be issued to all the students who participate in ISTT. Top 10%  of the participating students in each category in each school will be awarded with gold medals and next 10% of the students will be awarded with silver medals. The students who score highest marks in each district and in each category will be honored with mementoes. State level toppers in each category will receive 916 Gold lockets. The schools which produce maximum results, enroll highest number of students and also highest percentage of students to ISTT will be honored with special trophies and mementoes.

 

Mode of Examination: The International Scholastic Talent Test is to be conducted at the schools on 30 the October 2010, from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm, under the supervision of the coordinators appointed by IAME.

 

Date and procedure of dispatching the entry form:

 The letter to the parents sent to the schools separately, is to be issued to parents through the students. The entry form duly filled in and signed by the head of the school along with the specified amount in the mode of cash or DD is to be dispatched so as to reach IAME office before 14 August 2010.

 

Results and distribution of prizes:-

The school level results will be announced in the second week of January 2011 and certificates and prizes will be sent to the schools in the same week. District level prizes will be awarded in functions arranged in each district and state level winners will be honoured in IAME day.
